Jerry Harmon's music is a combination of blues, southern rock,country and bluegrass that blends together and becomes him. His timeless lyrics, lighting fast guitar playing and great ability as a performer creates a show that is versatile,extremely entertaining and authentic. Harmon is also is a seventh generation Master Appalachian Mountain Storyteller keeping alive a tradition that has been in his family since his great great grandfather Council Harmon shared the Jack-tales in the Southern Appalachian mountains of North Carolina in the early 1800's. There are many people who put storytelling and theatre in the same basket,but not so with Jerry Harmon. Harmon' storytelling in the Appalachian dialect of old is not something from someone with a pair of overalls, and a fake dialect. it is obvious when he performs that Harmons speech is natural. The Jack Tales were passed to Jerry from his grandfather by a fireplace in what Harmon describes as "A little wood framed house in a hollar." These historical tales were first told in America by the Harmon family in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina in the early 1800's by Council Harmon.
